In 1997, Bill and Sandy Boyce left their successful North Carolina Yamaha piano stores, and moved to Florida to relax and enjoy their new retirement home. That plan lasted about 90 days. Bill and Sandy quickly found they had too much enthusiasm and love for the music business to stay away.
Yamaha had a hand in the matter, too. The Boyce’s had been so successful selling Yamaha pianos in North Carolina for the past 20 years, Yamaha offered Bill and Sandy the proverbial “deal you can’t refuse.”
Soon after Bill and Sandy Boyce opened their Sarasota Piano Distributors store, they began looking for a substantial size warehouse that could also function as a company headquarters. Bill had used this type of multiple-purpose facility successfully in North Carolina.
Frank Harvey, President
Bill and Sandy found what they were looking for in centrally-located Palmetto, Florida. This 14,000 sq. ft. structure is ideally situated in west central Florida only minutes from the Skyway Bridge to St. Petersburg, I-75 to Tampa, and I-4 to Orlando and Florida's east coast. The site includes a large warehouse with delivery facility as well as management offices.
In addition to hundreds of Yamaha and other major brand keyboard instruments, the Palmetto complex houses the offices of the president of operations, the head of accounting and staff, marketing, delivery management and the remarkably modest offices of Bill and Sandy Boyce.
One building. Many functions. That pretty much sums up the Piano Distributors Headquarters and Warehouse in Palmetto, Florida.
