In 1969, Bill Boyce opened the second Bill Boyce Music Center in one of the first malls in state, Holly Hill Mall in Burlington, N.C. In 1972, Rhett Catoe came on board as a sales associate, fresh out of Elon College. He became manager of the store in 1973 and became a partner in the operation with Bill Boyce in 1977. Boyce and Catoe moved from the mall into a large building located on Interstate 85 in Burlington in 1980. The name was changed to Bill Boyce's Musical Instrument Outlet. In addition, Boyce and Catoe, in 1979, purchased land between Greensboro and Winston-Salem on I-40 with aspirations of opening a superstore. This store was completed in 1984.

We take pride in making the piano buying experience a comfortable one when shopping with our professionally trained salespeople, who make sure a customer has as much information as needed for them to make a decision. In addition, our no-pressure, friendly approach leaves people feeling that the salesperson truly tried to find what was best for you, and your musical dreams.
